Is your organisation a CIC, Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), charitable company, registered charity or a community group that's an unincorporated association and you’re thinking about changing to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)? If so, this training session is for you.

The session will cover:


  • Things to consider before deciding to change structure.
  • Creating a new governing document, including charitable objects.
  • The conversion process.
  • What happens once conversion has happened.


The session will be delivered by Sarah Thomas, Development Officer, Stronger Kent Communities. She has worked in the voluntary sector in East Kent for more than 20 years, the majority of which has been providing one-to-one support for organisations of all sizes, alongside delivering training and facilitating events.
