Channing School proudly presents our production of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night'...
'Twelfth Night' is a lively comedy about a young girl called Viola who is shipwrecked and cast into the town of Illyria, where she disguises herself as a boy and serves Count Orsino. Orsino employs “him” (she calls herself Cesario) as the messenger to the woman he loves, a beautiful lady called Olivia. Chaos and confusion follows… In our version, set in the 1950s, Olivia owns a car dealership and Orsino runs a cocktail bar, where his girl group 'The Illyrians' sing evocative songs from the era. Mistaken identity, silly drunken behaviour, catchy tunes – classic Shakespeare rom-com!
