Chaos Care: creativity, meditation and somatic writing space.
Overview
During this one-hour online session, we will explore the loving concepts of sanctuary/homecoming/belonging as radical acts of care amidst chaos.
Led by artist-facilitator, writer and somatic practitioner Lateisha Davine Lovelace-Hanson.
This project raises funds for Hurricane Melisa relief. All proceeds go to Jamaican mutual aid and grassroots initiatives.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale; please only pay as much as you can afford.
In the wake of multiple global crises fuelled by colonial-genicidal and ecologically devastating forces, it is our duty to stand/rest in the legacy of those who have paved the way. To both remember and recreate practices, pathways and possibilities that are built through the power of love. To come together andd remember who we are.
Trained and certified by Lama Rod Owens in the Seven Homecomings Meditation – join Lateisha as they combine this open and accessible teaching with creative writing prompts to help us restore, enjoy and share.
These on-hour sessions are open to all who feel called – honouring that this is both a creative practice and fundraising space.
We acknowledge that these sessions are rooted in specific lineage and community traditions, including but not limited to Tibetan Buddhism, Black feminisms, ancestral and indigenous traditions, disability justice and queer cultural space making.
If you identify as a carer, e.g., space holders, organisers, therapists, parents, earthworkers, etc. Please come and fill up your cup!
