Description

Ride to the Thomson Rally

The RW Thomson Memorial Rally was first held in 1967 to honour R.W. Thomson (1822-73) the inventor of the pneumatic tyre in 1845 (UK Patent 10990). It has been organised since 1976 by the Robert William Thomson Memorial Fellowship which was formed to perpetuate his memory in 1975.

There will be two rides, one from the north and one from the south. Both rides will meet at Brechin Castle and then ride together to Stonehaven and the event. details to follow.

North Ride - details TBC - Lead Road Captain Brian Johnstone

South Ride - Meet at McDonald Forth Road bridge for a 09.00 departure. Will pick up at the following locations and times en-route: Kinross Services - 09.20, 1st layby past pert on A90 - 09.45, Beefeater, Goudie Croft, Kingsway, Dundee - 10.15, to arrive Brechin Castle garden centre at 11.00.
