Charanga VIP Sessions Training Day
Fri 7 April 2017, 10:00 – 15:30 BST
Essex Music Hub are offering two days of IT training during the Easter break, to introduce our tutors to the music technology packages that we currently offer to schools.
A number of schools have contacted us requesting for specialist music technology support, and for tutors to offer an after-school music technology club; before we can engage with schools in this manner, we need to ensure that the tutors delivering this work are able to use the packages effectively and with understanding.
For each package, tutors will be taken through basic familiarisation of the software, and then will be exploring how to deliver a range of activities and make the best use of the software with young people.
Fiday 7th April: Charanga VIP Studio Sessions 10am - 12pm / 1.30pm - 3.30pm
Level of difficulty: Easy – minimal experience of multitrack software required
This is a package that is offered to all secondary school students through our digital partner Charanga. This software package turns a standard computer connected to the internet, into a small studio, and allows students to explore any area of creativity and to create music that they particularly relate to.
Charanga VIP was developed in Essex by Max Wheeler who has put a number of video tutorials on the website to support student learning and engagement, as the feedback from some teaching staff is that they do not have the confidence to deliver this themselves. Although this software package is used extensively across many Essex schools, we would like to place some tutors into school settings to support the delivery of music technology for a period of at least a term, where the in-school teacher is unsure about how to deliver this.

Tutors will be paid £40 for their attendance.
