Argentine Catalogue Launch

with Ariana Harwicz in conversation with Mariana Casale & Carolina Orloff


Ariana Harwicz, the highly successful Argentinian author of "Die, My Love", will be present for the launch of the inaugural Charco Press catalogue and to discuss central themes of her literature as well as the processes of writing and translation and the role of literature in the United Kingdom. She will be joined by Cultural Consultant and specialist in Latin American and comparative literature, Mariana Casale and Carolina Orloff, translator and founder of Charco Press.



Charco Press is a new independent publisher based in Edinburgh focused on publishing contemporary Latin American literature in English. In 2017 they are launching their inaugural catalogue dedicated to contemporary Argentine literature with five titles:



• The President’s Room by R. Romero (translated by C. Coombe)

• Fireflies by Luis Sagasti (translated by Fionn Petch)

• Slum Virgin by Gabriela Cabezón Cámara (translated by Frances Riddle)

• Southerly by Jorge Consiglio (translated by Cherilyn Elston)

• Die, My Love by Ariana Harwicz (translated by Sarah Moses y Carolina Orloff)
