Led by Tim Smith of GSFW Solicitors, this session will provide the opportunity to learn more about legal structures for your organisation, including the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) structure and a Community Interest Company (CIC).

The session will cover:

  1. Overview of organisational structures
  2. Pros and cons of Charity status
  3. Factors in choosing between different organisational structures
  4. How to set up a CIO and demonstrate your charitable objectives effectively
  5. How to set up a CIC
  6. Overview of the roles of Trustees / Directors / Members
  7. Personal Liability

This course is valuable to local organisations setting up or starting out, or would like to move from constituted group to a more formal legal structure.
