Not Just for the Girls this time...

Why not come and join Stilettos Network for Gin Tasting this November?

Love it or hate it, Gin has definitely become "the tipple of the hour". So put down your Prosecco or your Pint and give it a chance. Our host assures us that there is definitely a Gin out there to suit every palate and a mixer to complement it.

“When people tell me they don’t like gin, I always ask, ‘are you sure you just don’t like tonic?’ It’s quite bitter, and originated as a prevention for malaria so it could be that.” Desmond Payne, creator of Beefeater 24

What is Gin?

Gin must, by law, include juniper, a wild plant that is not cultivated and must be harvested by hand. In addition to this, it can be flavoured with other botanicals, including Seville orange peel (Beefeater), grapefruit peel and Japanese sencha tea (Beefeater 24), spiced cinnamon and grains of paradise (Bombay Sapphire), cardamom (Plymouth), and cucumber and rose petals (Hendrick’s).

Sounds good?

How does the Gin tasting work?

Alice and her husband David, our hosts for the night, will bring along a number of Gins and a variety of mixers. With the group, they will discuss and taste 5 of these and invite you to make your own tasting notes to help you identify the differences and what it is you do (or do not) like. All of this (and nibbles!) is included in the price.

After that, you can taste further Gins for £2.50 per drink. Any part bottles of Gin left over will be auctioned off at the end of the night - so you can take your favourite tipple home to enjoy!

Why are we doing this?

Well, firstly, we all like an after work Friday drink, and possibly to learn something new, try new things and meet new people. Most importantly though, all profits for this event will go to local charity http://youthlink.btck.co.uk/ which does amazing work supporting 11-25 year olds in the region.

The Venue

St Peters House is based in Wolverhampton city centre, just a short walk from the main train station, the bus network and taxis aplenty.
