Description

Pure and PEM are delighted to announce that our next Charity Leaders Forum will be held on 19 June 2019 at Arthur Rank Hospice, Cambridge.

We are pleased to be joined by Penny Wilson, trustee of Getting on Board, a charity that helps individuals, employers and members of professional networks become new leaders in communities through board-level volunteering.

The topic for the session is:

How to find trustees for your charity

Does your charity struggle to recruit the trustees you need? Could a broader range of trustees with professional skills, networks and wide life experiences give your charity the impetus to reach the next level?

Penny will talk about how to identify which kinds of trustees would support the development of your charity and how to recruit them. You will come away with a clearer idea of the type of trustees you need, a draft advert, and some advice on how to find the trustees you need.

If you have a trustee recruitment advert you have used before and you are happy to share it with others, please bring it along (whether or not it got you the trustees you wanted).

This session will be interactive and will cover:

  1. What are the immediate key priorities for your charity?
  2. What are the skills gaps amongst your trustee board?
  3. How do you describe and market the role of trustee - including advert writing
  4. How are trustees inducted and what contribution can they make?
