Leah Lewis, Civitas Consultancy
Leah has over 8 years of experience working in the third sector, and specialises in supporting Community Fundraising income streams for small and local charities. Leah has spent recent years working closely with local businesses, organisations, community groups and schools to develop community fundraising relationships and income, providing her with a wealth of knowledge in these areas.
During the pandemic, she was furloughed like most fundraisers and, set up a Facebook group to support fundraisers who were dealing with the challenges of fundraising in lockdown, the group “Community Fundraisers Network” now has over 1,300 members. From here she made the leap into freelancing and in September 2020 launched Civitas Consultancy, where her aim is to provide solutions to enable charities to build key relationships and increase their public presence and raise funds in their community!
Leah was awarded Highly Commended Fundraiser of the year in the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Chilterns Fundraising Awards 2020.

You will be placed in small breakout rooms where you will introduce yourself and your organisation. When the breakout rooms close, we will explore the findings as a group.

The events have a good mix of participants from a range of charities, plus freelancers and agencies who support the sector.

Charity Meetup is a friendly and welcoming but useful event.
It is designed to make it easy, affordable and enjoyable for people working in (or with) not-for-profits to gain and share skills, foster and grow connections and develop collaborations.
The events were created by Dawn Newton after she noticed there were an array of meetings on offer, but nothing which supported participants to network in a practical way through facilitated activities.
The Meetups have been running in London and Buckinghamshire since 2015. In May 2020, we brought the group to the Midlands to help support those in the sector through challenging times.
Due to the pandemic, we now have one virtual event per month that everyone is welcome at. It is held every second Tuesday of the month (10-11.30am) and is organised and hosted Vicky Kangurs and Hope Drew.
We have active Facebook and LinkedIn groups which anyone is welcome to join.
