25th January | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Join us for our charity and non-profit drinks and networking event, where you’ll be guaranteed an interesting, fun and sociable evening! In this networking session we will be joined by Chuffed.org who will be going over all things crowdfunding!
Chuffed.org is a leading global crowdfunding platform for Social Causes that assists charities, social enterprises, or anyone with a passion to solve social problems, raise funds through crowdfunding. Unlike many crowdfunding websites, Chuffed.org receives no commission on funds raised with one hundred per cent of the donation going to the project. This fundraising model starts with the cause’s true believers and gets them to engage their networks through social media. So far, over $11M has been raised on Chuffed in the past 3 years for over 3,500 campaigns in 20 countries.
About the presentation / ‘Top 5 Tips’
In this session, Prashan and Marlies explain the fundamentals of crowdfunding for social causes, how and when to launch a campaign, useful tips and tricks for individuals and organisations getting started in crowdfunding, and why you should consider adding crowdfunding to your fundraising mix. They’ll be drawing from learnings from over 3,500 projects that have been funded on Chuffed, raising more than $11M in the past 3 years, as well as their own experience in launching and running crowdfunding campaigns.
Prashan Paramanathan – CEO
Prashan dreams about a world where the smartest kids in school choose to join non-profits and social enterprises instead of management consulting and law firms. He tried being a management consultant for a while, but ran off to start micro finance banks with the World Bank Group for rural farmers in China before living and breathing the Australian non-profit sector for the last four years
Marlies Kimpe – Growth Manager
Marlies recently joined team Chuffed.org to better support both individuals and organisations doing amazing things. Prior to Chuffed.org, she worked as a Corporate Fundraiser for WaterAid in London, delivering the New Business strategy and securing 6-figure partnerships. She has also previously run 2 successful crowdfunding campaigns for small charities and social enterprises in Australia.
