TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CHARLIE HOUSE SANTA FUN RUN SUNDAY 24TH NOVEMBER

Participant Information

  • To register for the Charlie House Santa Fun Run you must be 16 years of age or older on event day. Entrants aged 0 to 15 must be entered by a parent/guardian and must always be accompanied during the event by said parent/guardian.
  • Each participant must agree to these terms and conditions before participating in the event. All participants take part at their own risk and a disclaimer waiving all claims against Aberdeen City Council, Charlie House Events and/or any party acting on their behalf must be completed by all entrants prior to participation.
  • Entrants must be capable of completing the full distance; start line to finish line which is approximately 1000 metres.
  • The run route is from Albyn Place, down Union Street to the Castlegate. All entrants must finish the full run route in the 30-minute time slot. If you feel you cannot finish in this time you should not enter this run.
  • Charlie House Santa Fun Run reserves the right to shorten or alter the published route at any time. Entrants do not have the right to claim a refund if the route is shortened.
  • Entrants’ runner number bibs are specific personal identifiers and cannot be exchanged with or sold to any other person.
  • All entry fees are non-refundable, cannot be deferred or transferred towards another event. Registration closure is determined and announced when event participation reaches the established capacity; or on a pre-set date; or four weeks before the event - whichever comes first.
  • The entrant accepts that the event they are entering is not a race in any format.
  • This event is a fun run experience, therefore there is no official run time recorded for participants, though you must be able to complete the run route in under 30 minutes.
  • If you have an assistance dog or a participant in a wheeled chair, please contact the organiser (Charlie House) prior to you completing the entry form.
  • No wheeled conveyances or pets are allowed on the course at any time; and no clothing, props or equipment that pose an unnecessary risk to participants, spectators or personnel are permitted.
  • Entrants should consult their doctor if they have any doubts about their ability to take part including, without limitation, having any pre-existing medical conditions.

Event Day

  • Every entrant shall be provided with an event bib number, which shall be clearly worn and displayed on the front of the body during the event. The event bib number is to be worn as issued. No entrants shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate bib number.
  • All entrants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of the event number, which must be worn on the front of their Santa suit during the run.
  • All entrants must check in at the Santa registration desks prior to starting event and pass through the finish line at the end of the run, finishing medals will only be given out to official Charlie House Santa Fun runners who pass through the finish area. Only one medal will be given per entrant.

Participant Safety

  • Entrants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage.
  • Medical personnel authorised by the event team may examine any participant who appears in distress if it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare. Medical personnel can remove the participant from the event.
  • Entrants must retire at once from the event if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers.
  • Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, alter the route or suspend the event due to inclement weather in accordance with Emergency Protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather. As stated, no refund will be issued in these circumstances.
  • Alcohol is not permitted at the event. Charlie House and or Aberdeen City Council reserves the right to remove anyone who is under the influence of alcohol, whether consumed prior to commencement or during the event.
  • Entrants must not use any personal entertainment listening devices. This is particularly important to allow any of the event staff, stewards or medical personal to be able to communicate quickly with the participants.

To run in the Charlie House Santa Fun Run, runners must agree with the following disclaimer:

“In completing this entry, I declare that I, or the minor aged below 16 years old that I act as guardian for, will not to part in the event unless medically fit to do so and that, in any event, we will compete at my/their own risk. I accept that the organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, costs or expenses which may arise in consequence of my/their participation of the event. I understand that entry fees are non-refundable.

Due to the nature of this event it is not possible to stop people taking your image during your participation of the event. Charlie House and Aberdeen City Council may use your image for promotion for future Santa Fun Run event
