Chas Palmer Williams – Exclusive solo acoustic pre-Slam Dunk warm-up show!

Chas is the singer from the band Lightyear. Respected for their work ethic, “unorthodox” live show and strong grass root origins. As much as they were clowns they had an underlying, honest message and respect in the underground scene and never diverted from their original ethos.

Highlights included playing Reading and Leeds festival 4 times (also in the campsite with a PA and generators dressed as ninjas after Metallica had played, technically headlining the festival), numerous radio one air plays (Mike Davies, John Peel, Steve Lamacq), getting thrown off the Jack Ass tour and going on stage with Ice T dressed as a pantomime horse.

With detailed, clever, humorous and sad lyrics about Midlands pride (ahem), losing loved ones, the confusion of what happens when your life doesn't pan out the way you planned and an undying geek love for games workshop. He released his first EP “we showed them, didn't we” on Ashes records and is currently writing his debut album.

Having played over 2000 shows so far in his career, Chas is back on the road with his solo acoustic show and is playing an exclusive one-date warm-up show before heading off to the Acoustic Stage at Slam Dunk Festival.

The Frank Hunter Trio

The Frank Hunter Trio are an energetic 3-piece power trio hailing from Derbyshire. Performing all across the UK, the band fuses elements of Rock, Jazz, Funk and Pop into their powerful and dynamic live performances.

Recent interest has increased for the band since their appearance on The Top Floor Sessions with BBC Radio Derby, so this is a perfect opportunity to see them at their finest.

Kelsey and the Embers

Nottingham Indie wonders Kelsey and the Embers will be opening the night. With haunting melodies and hints of The Cranberries, this band will leave you stunned.

The four piece formed in the heart of Notts and is lead by former FSN finalist and Young Creatives Winner 2017/2018 Kelsey Shaw, who's compositions have been described as including 'the beaut Acoustic-Pop touches that Notts has come to love' - Sam Nahirny, NUSIC.

THE EMBERS consists of wing-woman Aaliyah Raffell, a solo musician previously, who provides delicate harmonies and plenty of bass for the ultimate vibe. Fellow member Nathan Johnston also creates intricate and soulful melodies on both guitar and piano, whilst drummer Adam Shaw is a multi-instrumentalist in his own right, being a part of well-known band THE DANDYLIONS, who have opened the Splendour mainstage. As part of this band, he ties the other members together with the high tension build-ups and fills that have made the band a rising feature in Nottingham.
