About this event

Hobbies • Books

Chatterbooks book clubs are run in partnership with The Reading Agency and are an opportunity to develop a child’s love of books in a friendly and supervised environment.

The Chatterbooks club at Walthamstow Library will meet at 4.30pm on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, beginning on the 18th October. The club is for children aged 7-11.

- A typical session will involve a theme, such as Adventure or Funny Stories.

- Children will build their confidence by briefly talking about the book they’ve been reading since the last meeting.

- Fun activities and games based on the session’s theme.

- A librarian will read to the group, who will then discuss the book in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

- Children will choose a book to take home and read for the next Chatterbooks meeting and will help decide the next theme.
