Roar & Explore: Business Netwalking
This informal walking tour is designed to give local professionals an early look at the Lions at Large – The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail, launching across Cheltenham and Gloucester in summer 2025.
We’ll meet at Coffee #1 in Montpellier Gardens for a drink and introduction from Carrie, Project Manager at Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals Charity, before heading off on a relaxed 4-mile walk to explore some of Cheltenham’s beautiful, newly installed lion sculptures.
Carrie will guide us through the story behind the trail, its connection to the local community, and the inspiration behind each design. You’ll gain a clearer understanding of how the trail has been developed, who’s involved, and how you can help raise awareness through your own networks.
This familiarisation walk is a great opportunity to:
- Get to know the trail in its first week (of a nine week run)
- Understand how to engage your audience or customers with it
- Connect with other Cheltenham-based professionals in a relaxed setting
- Enjoy a breath of fresh air, a stretch of the legs and admire some beautiful artwork.
Please wear suitable footwear and bring weather-appropriate gear—we’ll be out rain or shine. Whether you work in hospitality, retail, leisure or professional services, this walk will give you the tools to confidently promote and support the trail throughout its run.
About the Trail:
Cheltenham BID is proud to be a presenting partner of Lions at Large, a major public art event produced in partnership with Wild in Art. Featuring over 30 large lion sculptures painted by local artists and a ‘Cub Club’ of smaller lions decorated by schools and community groups, the trail celebrates Gloucestershire’s rich history, culture and diversity. It's a free, family-friendly attraction expected to draw significant footfall to the area over nine weeks. It will raise money for The Big Space Cancer Appeal - building new and enhancing existing spaces at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Tickets are complimentary* for BID levy-paying businesses and £15 for non-BID businesses, with a maximum of two tickets available per business.
*While these tickets are free to attendees, please be aware that each one represents a real cost to the BID. We kindly ask that if you reserve a ticket, you honour your commitment to attend. No-shows prevent other businesses from taking advantage of the opportunity. Due to a high number of non-attendances at previous events, failure to cancel your ticket with at least 48 hours’ notice may result in restrictions on your ability to register for future events. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us deliver successful events for everyone.
