Event description

Description

Many people consider electrochemistry to be concerned only with energy production and storage. Although very important these are not the only industrial applications of electrochemistry. Electroplating was one of the first industrial applications of electrochemistry in the early 19th century. Today electrochemistry is also used for synthetic chemistry and waste water purification.

This evening aims to illustrate Industrial Electrochemistry with presentations from four companies from the South of England. The evening can be used to support any CPD programme you are undertaking. Certificates of attendance will be provided.

Drinks and a buffet will be provided during the evening, providing an ideal chance for networking.

Talks and Speakers:

High Energy Lithium-Sulfur Batteries; Jacob Locke - Scientist

Corrosion and Protective Coatings; Andrew Patterson - Director

Fuel Cell Development; Jonathan Sharman - Technology Manager

Electrochemical Waste Water Treatment; Nicola Palmer - Senior Research Scientist
