About this event

This workshop provides an introduction to the term of Chemsex and the impact that terms means. The workshop looks at the content and the culture around the use of drugs during sexual activity mostly between same sex couples. The workshop also explores the types of drugs used and the physical and psychological impact they can have and how individuals can reduce the risk to themselves and others.

It is appropriate for workers from a wide range of agencies, who will or do encounter drug use in the course of their work.

By the end of the session participants will be able to:


  • What is Chemsex and in what context does it happen?
  • What substances are taken during Chemsex?
  • What are the risks?
  • What are the barriers to support?
  • How can users stay safe?
  • What support can we provide?
