Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does a virtual fun run work?

A virtual fun run is an activity that can take place wherever you want, in your own time and at your own pace, (following the latest COVID-19 guidelines for safety).

Register to choose a distance between 5K or 10K, track your speed on your own GPS device, then email us your fun run evidence.

Once we've processed your results, we will send you your certificate via email and add you to a leader-board for distance, age and gender.

How do I submit evidence?

  1. Record your run (jog or walk) on your chosen App such as MapMyRun or Strava anytime up 31st December
  2. Send a screen shot with your name(s), age(s) and registration order number to
  3. Title your email “CGS Fun Run Evidence"
  4. Attach your fancy dress photos (optional)

Can I register for more than one distance?

Of course you can, you crazy fun runner!

Can only CGS pupils and family participate?

We welcome anyone to take part and encourage you to involve friends and family not associated with the school.

Our aim is to establish the CGS Fun Run as a popular, regular event to continue to raise money for our school, so spread the word and invite others to join in.

Do I have to fundraise in order to run?

You don’t, but we’d love it if you did! The CGS Fun Run has replaced the FOCGS Spring Fair in raising crucial funds, so your support is greatly appreciated.

Please join the CGS Fun Run Team Just Giving page and click ‘Join Team’ to link your sponsorship donations to the overall Fun Run target.

And you can click to donate an optional amount when you register. Eventbrite charges a 2% service fee on donations.

Can I include photos taken during our run?

Yes please! We want to see you, your fun running family and friends celebrating your achievement, and we absolutely encourage you to wear fancy-dress - we'll even give a prize for the best outfits.

Please share your photos and video clips on any of our social media channels.

Am I fit enough to run?

We would recommend that all our participants follow the health advice on the Runners' Medical Resources Website.

We recommend that if your child (under 18) wants to enter, they should complete the distance under supervision and with a competing parent/guardian.

Any other terms and conditions?

Yes. Tickets are not transferable and all runners take part at their own risk. The organisers will not be responsible for any injuries sustained. Your entering the run is deemed your acceptance of these terms.

The event is organised by the Friends of Chesham Grammar School, registered charity number: 295740
