Be inspired!

Following the success of our virtual event at the end of 2020, The Friends of Chesham Grammar School would like to invite you to take part in our next Virtual Fun Run event, and this time it’s an accumulator!

Run, jog or walk; simply log all your activity throughout August using your preferred health tracking App, then email us your evidence for the month.

The event will be in 4 age groups including all genders:

  • Year groups: 6 and below for academic year 2020-21
  • Year groups: 7-9 for academic year 2020-21
  • Year groups: 10-13 for academic year 2020-21
  • Adults: (18 years and over, excluding Year 13s)

We’ll send a certificate to all participants, with prizes awarded for:

  • The greatest distance covered throughout the month of August, in each of the 4 age categories
  • Best fundraisers in the student year group categories

Register now and start recording your activities between 1st and 31st August.

We’d love as many people as possible to take part, therefore, registration is free or with an optional donation.

Please join the CGS Fun Run Team JustGiving page and click “Join Team” to link your sponsorship donations to the fun run target.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does a virtual fun run work?

A virtual fun run is an activity that can take place wherever you want, in your own time and at your own pace, (following the latest COVID-19 guidelines for safety).

Accumulate walking, jogging and running miles from 1st to 31st August, track your activities on your own GPS device, then email us your fun run evidence for the month.

Once we've processed your results, we will send you your certificate via email and add you to a leader-board for distance, age group and gender.

How do I submit evidence?

  1. Record your activities on your chosen App such as MapMyRun, Strava or Apple Watch between 1st to 31st August.
  2. Send a screen shot of the monthly total with your name and registration order number to
  3. Title your email “CGS Fun Run Evidence"

Can only CGS pupils and family participate?

We welcome anyone to take part and encourage you to involve friends and family not associated with the school.

Our aim is to establish the CGS Fun Run as a popular, regular event to continue to raise money for our school, so spread the word and invite others to join in.

Do I have to fundraise in order to run?

You don’t, but we’d love it if you did! With the money raised, students can benefit from upgraded facilities such as the extra covered outdoor space installed this year, so your support is greatly appreciated.

Please join the CGS Fun Run Team Just Giving page and click ‘Join Team’ to link your sponsorship donations to the overall Fun Run target.

And you can click to donate an optional amount when you register. Eventbrite charges a 2% service fee on donations.

Can I include photos taken during our activities?

Yes please! We want to see you, your fun running family and friends celebrating your achievements.

Since we can’t get together in person, please share your photos and video clips on any of our social media channels.

Am I fit enough to run?

We would recommend that all our participants follow the health advice on the Runners' Medical Resources Website.

We recommend that if your child (under 18) wants to enter, they should complete the distance under supervision and with a competing parent/guardian.

Any other terms and conditions?
