Evening

This is a relaxed and informal evening with the Port Sunlight Sea Dogs Shanty Band and a fish and chip supper, to raise funds for the RNLI. The shanty band will perform two sets with a break for fish and chips in between. Whilst supper is served there will be a cash only raffle and a few quizzes to keep you entertained at your table. Please supply your own drinks as these will not be available to buy on the night.

Food

A traditional supper of freshly fried, crispy fish in a light batter, accompanied by chips and mushy peas will be provided by the award winning Western Grove chippy. They are a small, independent, family run business with an amazing team who have won many national accolades for their responsibly sourced traditional fish and chips. They have been recognised as the third takeaway in the UK at the National Fish and Chip Awards (plus two more awards, 1st for their chips and 1st for sustainability).

Their commitment is to provide excellent quality food and the highest standard of customer service. They are plastic free pioneers for the city of Chester, Gold sustainable palm oil champions for Chester Zoo and NFFF quality award holders.

We ask you to bring your own drinks but we will supply all crockery and cutlery.

Entertainment

The Port Sunlight Sea Dogs are well-seasoned performers from both banks of the Mersey, and celebrate the River Mersey, the waterfront, the Port of Liverpool, the docks and its everyday people in stories and songs. They sing of a sailor's hard life, of heroes and villains, songs of Liverpool, work songs and wistful ballads of distant ports and cruel seas. Join in and sing out lusty choruses in this great tradition in our maritime heritage.

Venue

St Mary's Creative Space is an independent venue that supports the cultural offerings and development of Chester, its communities, cultural organisations and audiences through hires and programming and partnership across the city and region. It is tucked away in a charming and unexpected area of the city that even many locals have not discovered. The building itself is a decommissioned church, also known as St Mary’s Within the Walls. The venue is accessible for wheelchair users and there is a disabled toilet, however unfortunately there is no induction loop.
