Chesterfield Employability Conference
Wed 19 October 2016, 08:00 – 10:00 BST
The Chesterfield Employability Conference will take place on Wednesday 19th October at Ringwood Hall. The event is open to representatives from education and business and will discuss building stronger links between schools and employers in the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire area to help young people better realise their career potential.
The D2N2 Employability Framework, launched earlier this year, seeks to address the mis-match between the employability skills that young people are leaving school with or picking up through post-16 training programmes against those needed by employers in their workforces. This is being delivered through the Careers and Enterprise Company – Enterprise Adviser Network.
The ambition of the Framework over the next two years is for every secondary school and college in the D2N2 area, and at least 20% of specialist schools, to have:
A designated employer linked to their organisation;
An Enterprise, Careers and Employability Strategy;
Undertaken a self-assessment, to produce an action plan in response to the Enterprise, Careers and Employability Strategy;
Access to providers delivering enterprise, careers and employability activities who have been quality assured against the D2N2 Employability Framework;
Access to a range of funding to support their school strategies.
Organised by the D2N2 Enterprise Advisor Network and Destination Chesterfield, the breakfast meeting will include speakers from both business and the education sector talking about how they are working together to achieve these aims. There will also be an opportunity for schools and businesses to discuss their needs around employability in preparing work ready young people for the North Derbyshire economy and building the partnerships to achieve this.
Please note this event is open to a maximum of 2 delegates per Champion organisation. For further information please contact email@example.com
