Description

Chesterfield Food & Drink Festival announced to take place 29th/30th July @ Queens Park...

Chesterfield based events organisers Edge Events have announced that they will host Chesterfield’s first Food and Drink Festival this summer. Combining food, drink and entertainment it is definitely a date worth adding to everybodys diary. This brand new festival for Chesterfield will take place at Queen’s Park on the 29th and 30th July, starting at 11am and concluding at 7pm both days.
The event is free entry to all and visitors can expect to find over 30 local food producers as well as entertainment, chef demonstrations, live music, childrens activities, dance demonstrations and much more...

For all you foodies, the event will boast a plethora of food suppliers from across the Derbyshire region. This includes meat, vegatarian and vegan options as it intends to cater for all types of pallets. Co-organiser and creator of Edge Events, Laura Ashby states, “There will be a huge range of food to choose from, including flavours from around the world and locally sourced ingredients”. For all you attendees who enjoy a tipple in the sunshine, the festival will offer theme based bars specialising in real ale, gin and prosecco, adding a rather classy touch to the feel of this new addition.

The organisers have strategically put together a structural concept that is aimed at being inclusive for everybody. Co-organiser Richard Alsop states, “We are organising this festival to enable local food suppliers to come together, celebrate and showcase their unique and tasty products”.

With areas in Chesterfield like Chatsworth Road excelling in the food and drink sector, Laura Ashby states, “It’s definitely time Chesterfield had such an event in their calendar and if people support the celebration, there is no reason it can't keep growing and be around for years to come”. The festival will also be family friendly with an whole area dedicated to the little ones which will consist of face painting, henna tattoos, bouncy castle, donkey rides, train rides and an animal petting corner. These activities should keep the little ones entertained while the parents can chow down on some great food washed down with a drink of their choice. Richard Alsop states, “With so much going on we really do feel that there will be something for everybody”.

To top off this great weekend, the organisers have chosen Ashgate Hospice as their chosen charity who will be fundraising over the weekend. What more could Chesterfield ask for, so we urge people to spread the word and support this great looking event....
