I'm a foraging teacher with a passion for wild food and drink. Each walk is unique, responding to the plants and fungi which are in season at the time.
“Here we go a-foraging, the harvest has arrived, berries, nuts, mushrooms and there's seeds to be dried"
We meet outside the OLD Chettle village shop (more details below), where we sample some seasonal drinks and wild-flavoured snacks, followed by an introduction to safe and sustainable foraging.
We'll explore the village and farmland, stopping to identify, sample and chat about various species along the way and to discuss their properties, history and folklore.
We'll end the walk back where we began, to share a final sweet treat and seasonal drink.
The walk will be at a gentle pace and terrain includes footpaths and farm tracks. Children under 10 are free of charge and young people aged 10-18 are welcome at the concession rate.
I believe that plant identification and foraging knowledge should be available to all regardless of their financial situtation, so the concession rate is also available for home educators, students and those on low income.
