Event description

Description

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across England have been changing. But which changes, or combination of changes, have been most effective? Which changes gave the best clinical outcomes or proved most cost-effective?

For the last 18 months we have been evaluating major changes taking place as part of 'CAMHS transformation plans' across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Swindon, Wiltshire and Bath and NE Somerset.

Oxford Health NHS FT provides CAMHS services for all these areas. Yet, each area has made changes in different ways and at different times. This has given us a unique opportunity to examine the impacts of different changes.

The main changes across these areas have been to try and improve the accessibility of CAMHS for young people with the introduction of a ‘Single Point of Access’ (SPA), new integrated pathways of care, improved working across education and CAMHS, and third sector partnerships.

We are a team of psychiatrists, health economists and qualitative researchers, and we would like to invite you to find out, discuss and feedback on, the results of our CAMHS research work.

We're hoping to attract a diverse audience including commissioners, service managers, clinicians and users with the hope of stimulating discussion around any other important areas for future investigation into CAMHS.
