About this event

Child Criminal Exploitation and County Lines training delivered by Barnardo's. Half day interactive, online course.

Training is free and only available to staff and volunteers delivering youth services in Stockton-on-Tees. 2 places per organisation. A £20 pp fee will charged for no shows or cancellation with less than 24 hrs notice.

Content has been developed using current government guidance, messages from research, practice experience, the voice of the child and has lived experience impact. The course has the golden threads of trauma informed, relational practice and will cover local statutory safeguarding and National Referral Mechanism procedures.

Throughout the 4 hours the following will be covered:

  • Through the eyes of a child: chronological age versus capable age. Unpacking exploitation: concept and definitions. What works best for the child?
  • Modern Day Slaves: What is child criminal exploitation? What does it look and feel like?
  • Grooming and rewiring: The process and power through the stages of recruitment. What silences a child?
  • Our greatest threat: County Lines – what is it? How does it work? How does it affect our children? Relational and statutory response.
