Julie Van Onselen
Julie is Director, Educational Consultant and Trainer, Dermatology Education Partnership Ltd offering a full range of dermatology educational projects on behalf of the pharmaceutical and health care communications industries, the NHS and private health care, academic departments, professional groups and patient support groups. She also works one afternoon a week for the National Eczema Society helpline, supporting parents and people with eczema on the helpline and writing information With a background of 25 years experience in dermatology nursing, Julie works at national and strategic roles in dermatology, including nurse representative on Dermatology Council for England and Special Adviser to the All Party parliamentary Group on Skin. She is past editor of Dermatological Nursing and a regular contributor to a wide range of nursing, primary care and dermatology journals. Julie is passionate about improving dermatology care and support for people with skin conditions through developing educational initiatives for both healthcare professionals and patients. Kathryn has worked with childbearing women for the past 28 years. During that time she has supported maternity services and women as both a psychotherapist and midwife. She is currently involved in the Pregnancy Psychological Wellbeing Clinic at Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, which supports anxious and fearful childbearing women.
In 2014, Kathryn won an RCM Annual Midwifery Award for promoting normal birth in recognition of her involvement in the development of the Serenity and Halcyon Birth Centres at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.
Natalia has PGCE qualification in adult education and previously worked as a skincare educator in the beauty industry. Natalia works as part of the Bio-Oil team to develop training materials and resources for healthcare professionals.
Join us for this interactive session to explore the development of scarring and stretch marks including the different scar types and patient risk factors.
We will share expert knowledge of current scar and stretch mark management techniques and strategies for minimising risk and appearance.
You will leave this session with improved knowledge enabling you to confidently discuss scar and stretch mark management with your patients, and will receive printed resources to support advice giving.
This session is relevant for any healthcare professional caring for patients with scarring and stretch marks; whether as a result of surgery, pregnancy or alternative skin trauma.

All child health professionals and students are welcome to register.
