Description

The aim of this Conference is to enable delegates to explore whether Scotland’s children and young people, regardless of background or circumstances, have equal access to best possible healthcare and to consider ways in which the challenges to achieving health care rights and equality might be met.

Learning outcomes: Delegates will have a better understanding of:

  • Health issues and challenges facing different groups of children and young people
  • The way Scottish Government policy can support children and young people
  • Good practice in relation to children and young people’s health and emotional wellbeing
  • Age appropriate care and good practice for young people in adult services.

RCPCH has approved this activity for CPD in accordance with the current CPD guidelines.

Morning:

  1. How we can reduce health inequalities for children and families – broad theme. Mark McDonald, Minister for Childcare and Early Years.
  2. How Scottish policy supports children’s healthcare rights throughout their life journey – broad theme. Dr Catherine Calderwood, Chief Medical Officer
  3. The challenges in establishing a level playing field for ALL children’s and young people’s healthcare.Panel Discussion.

  • End of life care for neonates: Evelyn Rodger, Diana Nurse, NHS Lothian

Refunds

Full refund given if cancelled 4 weeks before the conference.

Cancellations received earlier than 4 weeks and no later than one week before the event is subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the delegate fee paid, plus a £15 administration fee.

If a cancellation fee is received within five days of the event or the participant fails to attend, the full event fee is payable.

Please note however that a substitute delegate can attend providing we are provided with the details in advance.
