Event description
Child protection training for people working or volunteering with children in a community or voluntary setting or organisation

About this Event

Do you work or volunteer with children in a community or voluntary setting within South Gloucestershire? Is it an after school club, a holiday club or a weekend group? Are you a sporting group or run classes in a religious building? Do you run classes for children outside of the school day? If the answer is YES to any of these then you will need to be trained in Child Protection.

I am running FREE Child Protection courses for people just like you. The course is 2 1/2 hours long and will equip you with knowledge and understanding of what child protection and safeguarding is, what the signs of abuse are, what legislation is covering you, about digital safeguarding and how to promote a safe environment for your children.

The training has been funded by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Partners so that together we can offer safer groups for our children and young people across the local authority.

The course is being hosted by Sue Wheeler who has been commissioned by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board to deliver this training. They have approved this course.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE OR ORGANISATIONS RUNNING OR WORKING WITHIN A COMMUNITY, SPORTS OR CHURCH SETTING, WITHIN THE SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE LOCAL AUTHORITY.

FAQsWill I get a certificate?

Yes. Each attendee will recieve a certified certificate at the end of the course.

Do I have to pay for the course?

No. The course is free. It is being funded by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Partners.
