Event description

Description

This workshop is for those who come into contact with children or young people through their work either in an organisational or individual capacity. It will provide an understanding of roles and responsibilities in safeguarding and protecting children and young people and what action to take when concerns arise. Learner’s objectives are:

  • Identify what is meant by child abuse and safeguarding
  • Understand how one’s own beliefs and values may influence decision making in safeguarding children and young people
  • Identify relevant legislation and guidance that provides the framework for safeguarding
  • Identifying the categories, signs and indicators of abuse and neglect
  • Understand how to respond to concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people
  • Identify the principles of good recording practice

Tea and coffee will be provided during the course duration and the facility has an onsite café.

As our courses are very popular, we ask that any cancellations are made at least 72 hours before the training date to allow someone else to book. Anyone not attending on the day who has not cancelled will be subject to a £10 cancellation fee to cover administration costs.
