Child Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking Awarenness Conference
Tue 25 October 2016, 12:30 – 14:30 BST
This short awareness session is developed in association with Brentwood Borough Council and Essex Police, specifically for taxi drivers, licensed premises and hotels/B&Bs. It aims to raise awareness of CSE and trafficking, illustrates the key and vital role taxi drivers and licensed premises play in identifying CSE and trafficking, and aims to promote confidence and understanding in reporting concerns.
Evidence shows that due to the way abusers groom and exploit their victims, taxi drivers, licensed premises staff (particularly door staff), and hotel/b&b staff are in a unique position to help spot the signs of CSE and trafficking. They play a vitally important role in helping to safeguard the young and vulnerable of whom they may come in to contact with through their job.
Taxis are often used to transport the vulnerable and young (both male and female) between venues, hotels or b&bs and licensed premises, hotels/b&bs are often used as locations to meet, groom and abuse the most vulnerable within our communities.
There will be presentations from key speakers and light refreshements will be provided, as well as a conference pack for each delegate.
