Event description

Description

YOU have been identified as a vital member of the community who can help safeguard victims of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and contribute towards the disruption of perpetrators who are committing these horrendous crimes in your area. People who work within the community have a vital role to play in tackling CSE at a local level.

This is a FREE event. The venue will be open from 5pm and coffee and tea will be provided, with specialists on hand to answer any questions you may have in relation to CSE.

The talk will take place between 6pm and 7pm and will include a presentation from Detective Inspector Richard Tompkins who heads the RISE (Reducing Incidents of Sexual Exploitation) Team and Paula Swain, a Northamptonshire CSE Specialist Nurse. Information will be provided about safety initiatives going on in your area to tackle CSE and on how you can help in your role working within the community.

The event is organised by the Northamptonshire Safeguarding Children Board (NSCB) as a joint initiative between the Borough Council of Wellingborough, RISE and Northamptonshire County Council and will provide an understanding of CSE, the role community members can play in terms of tackling CSE and information on how to report any concerns.

After the event there will be an opportunity to talk with the speakers, CSE Specialists and local members of the Council, as well as to network with other people working in the community.
