sportscotland, in partnership with Children First, have created this training resource for safeguarding in sport which supersedes the previous 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children'. The training will provide you with knowledge on child wellbeing and protection that will give you the confidence to deal with issues that may arise in your role working with children.
The 'Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport' (CWPS) workshop is split across two modules, with module 1 an eLearning session and module 2 being the online workshop. You will be required to complete module 1 prior to taking part in the three hour module 2 workshop, and details on how to access module 1 will be contained within the confirmation email sent to the email address that you register a place with around 10-14 days ahead of the module 2 workshop date.
Module 2 helps participants identify good practice, understand what constitutes abuse and how to take appropriate action if abuse is suspected. This online workshop will be held over one 3 hour session on Thursday 27 November, 6.00-9.00pm.
Note that if you completed this training 3 years ago and already have a Brightspace account, you will have the option to complete the online renewal module on the Brightspace training platform which is free of charge. Please check this prior to booking a place on this training.
Registration for this workshop closes on 17 November and there is a minimum age of 16 to be able to attend.
