As we are a commissioned service for Sefton Council, you must either live or work within the Sefton Borough in order to be eligible to attend any of our training and awareness sessions.

Who is it for?

This 1.5 hour training session for practitioners provides you with an understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children. This training is suitable for anyone who work in frontline services supporting the public for example, statutory services like social care, school staff or housing support. The training is also beneficial for anyone working in the third and voluntary sectors if you work with the general public, particularly with children or families.

In this course you are going to find out about how children can be affected by living in households where there is domestic abuse

The course looks at:

  • Children in the Domestic Abuse Bill 2021;
  • The 'lived experience' and 'voice of the child';
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs);
  • The impact of childhood trauma on development and behaviour;
  • Making a difference by reducing trauma and building resilience;
  • Getting support for children living with domestic abuse.
