Event description
Children’s Emergency Nurse Training (CEmNT)

About this event

Paediatric Emergency Nursing Education teams across the South Thames network, Brighton and Sussex have come together to develop a paediatric emergency nursing course.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced paediatric emergency nurses and adult emergency nurses with experience in looking after children in the ED to develop their skills when assessing and caring for children presenting in ED requiring medical or psycho-social care; including minor injuries, critical care, and major trauma.

Who is this module attended for?

  • Experienced paediatric ED nurses
  • Adult ED nurses who regularly work in Paediatric ED and have completed the paediatric section of the RCN Emergency Nursing Competencies.

About the course

To ensure our learners feel confident in the delivery of paediatric emergency care we will use a blended approach of:

  • Live and pre-recorded webinars
  • Virtual group discussions, group work, and simulation
  • Online activities
  • Self-study
  • Portfolio assessment

The topics covered in this course and related activities are separated down into learning blocks which usually last approximately 2 weeks. Each block has a ‘JOIN’ day, which is a virtual classroom day to focus on the application of the learning from the block.

Participants will be assessed by a presentation and clinical focused reflections.

About the JOIN virtual classroom dates

The JOIN days are held virtually.
