Event description
Join Julie Young for this seminar on learning from the experiences of adoptive families.

About this Event

During this seminar, Julie will talk about the crucial role of adoptive parents in family communication around adoption, helping young people make sense of their adoption story in a safe and beneficial way, and managing any contact with their birth family.

Many adoptive parents, young people and birth families have shared their experiences and perspectives in a range of studies at UEA and beyond – including a very recent study looking at the impact of Covid-19 on family contact and communication in adoption. The session will explore how we can learn from their experiences.

There will be time in the session for discussion, reflection and sharing of good practice.
