Childrens introduction to using a Sewing Machine
Winter months are cold and dark and the outdoors are not much fun, get your kids crafty on a sewing machine this new year.
Did they get a sewing machine for christmas?
Have they always wanted to make something for themselves or a friend?
Do they seem bored of the same old outfits for dolls or action figures?
Get them to learn how to use a sewing machine with our new Introduction to the sewing machine workshop with Talula. Get their creative juices flowing and inspire them to make:
The workshop is aimed at teaching children age 6-13 to use a standard electric sewing machine. The session will consist of:
- Understanding how a sewing machine works
- Threading up a machine
- Winding a bobbin
- Changing needles and feet
- Looking after your machine
This class will be taught on our machines: the Husqvarna Viking Emerald 118 & JL machines, so children will need not bring anything along and they get to keep their creations.
You can book using our 'early bird' rates up to 2 weeks prior to the session. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. You can also book a class with our wonderful staff team and volunteers in person at the hub, 131 Wood st. Please note that cancellations up to 72 hours in advance are transferable to another date, after which the booking is non-transferable and non-refundable.
