Building Workplace Resilience with Mindfulness-based Training
Mindfulness has been getting a great deal of attention lately. Organisations as diverse as Google, London Transport and the Houses of Parliament have embraced it. And in a recently published report, ‘Mindful Nation’, an all-party parliamentary group has recommended that mindfulness training be rolled out in schools and workplaces across the public sector.
What is mindfulness? How can it be deployed to make individuals, teams and whole organisations more resilient in the face of pressure and change? And what are the different options for delivering the training cost-effectively?
This workshop will cover all this and more as well as giving attendees a taste of mindfulness meditation with a workplace twist. And the experience may also make a difference to the rest of your weekend as you bring focus and awareness to the transitions we make between work and home.
Our Speaker: Michele Grant
Michele Grant is a director of Rising Minds, a social enterprise specialising in resilience training and coaching. She is an ICF-accredited coach and trained to teach mindfulness with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, part of the University Of Oxford Dept. Of Psychiatry. She is currently working with four local authorities on a pilot testing the delivery of resilience training online, in association with Kingston University Business School’s Wellbeing at Work research team.
When working with organisations Michele draws on a wealth of experience from more than 25 years in senior roles in the public sector – first in local government and then in BBC News. She has managed large-scale projects and brought teams together across different disciplines. She has a keen sense of how people are impacted by highly pressured working environments.
