Chimp Management Workshop #RideforCharlie
Thu 11 May 2017, 19:30 – 22:30 BST
In January this year, promising and immensely likeable and popular young cyclist, Charlie Craig, went to sleep one night and never woke up. Charlie was 15 years old.
Charlie's parents have set up a memorial fund in his name with the charity CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young. Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD and promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research.
Chimp Management is a powerful mind management model that has helped support the success of Olympic teams, Pro Cycling teams, Premiership and International football teams, rugby and wheelchair rugby and many more sports. It has applications far beyond sport and is used to help people in business, education, health and self-development.
Tim Buckle is an ex British Cycling Coach and cycling squad member. He now works for Chimp Management Ltd, and was a friend of Charlie's.
Tim has offered his time for free for an evening of fundraising in Charlie's memory. His aim is to introduce you to the Chimp Management model - and to your Chimp - and show you a path to help optimise the performance of yourself, your team or your organisation.
Park House School is a Specialist Sports College in Newbury with an ethos that promotes the values of Inspiration, Excellence, Courage, Determination, Equality, Friendship and Respect. Park House School is generously hosting this event.
Join us on Thursday 11 May to bring all these things together for an evening of insight and discovery and to help raise funds and awareness in Charlie's name.
Please consider adding a donation to your ticket order (EventBrite will charge a fee for this). Donations can also be taken on the night.
STOP PRESS - THERE WILL ALSO BE A CHARITY AUCTION - PLEASE COME PREPARED!
