Event description

Description

The Confucius Institute has partnered up with Hulme Community Garden Centre to run a series of Chinese garden workshops. So far the participants had the chance to learn some basic skills around planting, different soils and seeding. Workshops in the autumn months focus on weeding and harvesting.

We are hosting four further workshops where Mark Frith, Activities Co-ordinator and Enterprise Manager at the garden centre will discuss some key features of Chinese gardens, typical plants growing there and vegetables we can grow in the UK. The group will work on the design of the Confucius Garden and lay the foundation, which will ultimately form a peaceful place for people to sit and start enjoying the fruits of their labour, literally!

Come and share your ideas, design skills and passion to make this fantastic project happen! There are no particular skills required but please wear appropriate clothing as this will be a very hands on activity.

Please note that we will meet at the Confucius Institute , 180 Waterloo Place, Oxford Road, M13 9GP at 3pm to walk to Hulme Community Garden Centre together.
