About the craft;
Step into stillness and creativity in this meditative workshop centred on the ancient art of Chinese ink painting. Together, we will explore the beauty and symbolism of the plum blossom (梅花)—a flower that blooms in the cold of winter, representing quiet strength, purity, and renewal.
Guided by artist Su Yao, you will be introduced to the basics of brush technique, ink control, and the graceful, flowing style that defines this timeless art form. More than a painting lesson, this is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with the present moment through mindful, expressive brushwork.
By the end of the session, you will have created your own unique piece of ink painting onXuan paper and 1 plum blossom bookmark if time allows.

Venue Info: Northern Market, Gt George St LS1 3ED. This workshop is taking place in the 'speakeasy' area of the venue at the back where the accessible entrance is. The venue has a bar offering soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and tea and coffee. There are also food vendors in-house.
This workshop is accessible and open to all people, we offer a safe and judgement free space to create and craft.
Little Crafty Crafts are creative workshops taking place in and around Leeds to offer a cosy space for whimsical crafting. The focus is on fun and not perfection, these workshops are open to crafters of all levels, and are suitable even if you don't think you're 'very creative'. It's all about carving out some time for you, meeting new people and having a go at something new.
