Nostalgia Cina – Flower Deity / Two Immortals - a Chinese Nuoh Mask Theatre presented by Shang Orientheatre performed by Sun Li-Tsuei and Huang Wen-Hua

The Flower Deity has always been a symbol for happiness in Chinese folklore, two immortals find love. Nouh Mask Theatre was an important part of ancient Chinese ritual ceremony.

Sun Li Tsuei founded Shang Orientheatre in 2000. From a young age she learnt Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Gong and other traditional dances from several Chinese masters.

In the early 1980's, Sun Li Tsuei travelled to Europe where she studied performing art with Jacques Lecoq, Marcel Marceau, Maximilien Decroux and Stefan Niedzialkowski.

Sun Li Tsuei has created all the pieces performed by Shang Orientheatre . She has brought ideas from the source of Chinese culture to the modern time, transferring philosophy into contemporary physical theatre.

Shang Orientheatre has performed in the Avignon Festival , Belgium, Spain, France, UK, West Indies, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
