Chinwag with Ian Anderson (Designers Republic)
Event Information
Description
Chinwag....a chat about life and whatever else comes up.
For the opening of our 2015 season, we are delighted to welcome Ian Anderson, the visionary designer and brain behind Yorkshire's renowned graphic adventurers The Designers Republic TDR™. Ian's work has been housing cutting edge music since the early 80's, furthering the evocative and significant relationship between two beautiful art forms.
Despite having travelled the globe lecturing, exhibiting, and working with Warp, Nokia, MTV and Nike, Anderson is still ferociously northern at heart, with a glut of branding work done in Yorkshire, and Leeds. For the first time ever, Ian and TDR™ have brought together a gorgeous collection of works with Leeds based clients 1986 to current day, which showcases creativity that has supported and developed the creative industries in the city.
Hosted by our friends MPI Agency #MPIA03 - 'Fur Coat & No Knickers: TDR™'s work for Leeds based clients 1986 to current day, we are celebrating the opening of the exhibition with a Chinwag and DJ set from Ian.
Hosted by therapist Chris Madden, Chinwag invites you to lean in and listen to a conversation about life, creativity and anything else that comes up. Unlike a Q&A, this is an opportunity to get to know someone a bit better, hear a few of their tales, find out what makes them tick, share some insights and maybe ask a few questions too.
Held at the intimate Outlaws Yacht Club in Leeds, Chinwag is a unique chance to explore the lives and minds of our inspiring guests. Past Chinwags have included sell out nights with Andrew Weatherall, Creation Records head-honcho Alan McGee, cultural provocateur Don Letts, celebrated artist Pete Fowler, leftfield dance pioneer Justin Robertson and publishing maverick James Brown to name but a few.
As usual we are fundraising for the amazing Leeds childrens music and arts charity M.A.P (http://musicandartsproduction.org/) and although tickets are free, we ask if you can afford please make a small donation towards the great work done by M.A.P. This is a unique event with limited capacity so please arrive early, grab a seat, have your tea, have a drink, meet some mates, and enjoy an evening of insights.
