During the day the Big Top tent is the home for all of our fabulous display dancing and some concert and music acts too.
However, at 6.30pm each evening, we transform this splendid venue into an even more amazing space for a range of concerts that are specifically aimed at presenting something truly brilliant.
There is seating for 500 with hot drinks and refreshments nearby.

A concert bringing some of the very best in young people's folk music and song. All the stufdents ghere are either recent craduates or current scholars on the Newscastle University Folk Degree course..
Much has been said about the talent and skills coming out from this fine centre of folk education. Here is your chance to see for yourseles what comes of being fully immersed in a 3 year programme. We think you will be surprised and delighted at the results.
Pons Aelius are a six piect band that will blow your socks ff with Pipes, BFlute, Double bass and a variety of stringed instruments. Music from all corners of the british Isles and beyond will have your feet tapping.
The Rachel Hamer Band is a glorious mix of great musicians and Rachels rich vocals. A perfect match.
In addition there will be at least another 5 performers from the current intake of the Course providing us with a huge variety of material.
The concert will be presented by none less that the the Degree Programme Director, Cationa MacDonald and and Sandra Kerr who is Head of Vocal Studies.
This is a major event in Chippenham's musical history and one not to be missed!
Celebrating all that is traditional about Scotland with lots of music, songs, Bagpipes & Drums and dancing starring Isla St Clair, The Pipes and Drums of The Scots Guards Association, Mrs Bruce's Boys, Moira Craig and Hector Gilchrist, Caledonia Acushla Dancers and Chippenham's very own Hopscotch Dance team.

This is a critically acclaimed show about the mining communities of Northumberland and Durham. Presented by Bob Fox, Jez Lowe, Billy Mitchell and Benny Graham, it tells of the history, trials and tribulations of how the mining industry shaped the lives of the families and working men of the area. These hugely popular artists provide a fascinating insight into a way of life that is gone, but certainly not forgotten.

Chippenham Folk Festival is a unique and distinctive event that is run entirely by volunteers, The organisers and staff are all folk enthusiasts, many are local to the town or from surrounding areas. However the stewards and some of the regular staff come from all corners of the country to help pull together one of the best festival in the Folk year.
