About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This interactive workshop, hosted by the GPM team but delivered by East Lindsey District Council, is for anyone who is early on in their own Age Friendly journey; either those just starting out, or those who have made it a little further down the road.

During this 2-hour reflective session, you will hear from Jane Berni who was involved in the work of Talk, Eat, Drink (TED) East Lindsey, one of the delivery partners on the national Ageing Better programme.

Jane will share her experience of working towards East Lindsey joining the Age Friendly network, and ensuring that the World Health organisation’s framework aligned with the needs and views of older people in their communities.

The session will help you consider what to do (and not to do!) as you start working with your own communities and help you consider what, or who, is missing from this work. We’ll cover:

- An opportunity to meet others undertaking similar work and learn from their experiences

- An overview of the Age Friendly framework and how this applies to your local area

- What makes a good Age Friendly lead and the importance of relationship building

- Considering and responding to gaps in your local area, including whose voice you most need to hear from

- An overview of the wider support and resources available from The Centre for Ageing Better, Good Practice Mentors and more!
