1. About the event
ChippyWellFest is a unique day of inspiring talks to open minds and challenge understanding around lifestyle, health and wellbeing.
Prepare to feel empowered to make positive changes, that will have a real and lasting impact on your life.
8.30am -5.30pm Saturday 29th September 2018.
Chipping Norton Theatre.
2. Why the event is being held and given to the community
The lifestyles that we are choosing to lead have become the biggest cause of disease, resulting in 7 in 10 deaths (The Lancet, The Global Burden of Disease 2016)
We are experiencing pandemics in all chronic diseases.
- 1 in 2 people alive in 2015 will be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime (Cancer Research UK).
In an era of unprecedented wealth and scientific knowledge, this makes no sense.
Or does it?
There is a fundamental mismatch between the creatures we are born to be and the lives we are leading.
People are suffering or dying needlessly, every day. And yet the answers are out there. And by the time you need to go to the doctor’s surgery you have already lost valuable days of health and joy that you could have had.
We only have to change our mindsets and where we look for the answers.
Chippywellfest will give you many of the answers and inspire you of find the others.
For free.
You just have to choose to turn up.
3. Who might find it beneficial to attend
The event is a free donation to the community thanks to the generosity of the speakers, sponsors and event organisers.
Anyone can attend, irrespective of their financial means.
You will enjoy the event if
- You are prepared to be openminded – to have your health preconceptions challenged;
- You are committed to taking action over your health or support the health journeys of others;
- You use and love the NHS and wish to understand what the choices are in using lifestyle health approaches to improve your health in ways that can be quicker and with more lasting effect.
The ChippyWellFest speakers are local health practitioners with whom you can carry on conversations after the day. Therefore those who live in the community will benefit most.
4. What you might learn by attending this event
...a real case insight on how the specifics of living the right lifestyle choices can give our bodies everything they need to reverse a chronic health condition.
...we love our NHS, but we are asking it to do things that it was never designed to do. Learn about new public healthcare and its implications on how we must change our approach to our health .
...there is so much dietary advice ‘out there’, much of it ill-informed, old hat or with hidden bias. And there is so much more than what you put into your mouth, or don’t! Learn the rock-solid foundations on which to build your bio-individual nutrition plan.
...everything starts in the mind. Hear how our minds are battling with an impossible task that then translates into physical disease. Understand what we can do to address the ‘monkey mind’.
...there is increasing belief that traditional Eastern medical approaches are much more suited to correcting our Western health pandemics. Gain insight on the solutions that time has forgotten and the corporate West has no motivation for. Discover how we can harness these therapies for ourselves.
...our bodies where never built for sedentary lifestyles. The science behind moving. We can do everything needed in the day, whether we are a ‘gym bunny’, or not. Although many of us think we know how to exercise, new science is telling us that we have got much of it wrong, from the type of movement we are doing (or not!) to the language we use, to how to monitor that we are making progress.
...hear how a completely new business approach that combines modern science, ancient technology and the understanding of gut & digestion is making a material difference to public health by changing our eating habits for the better.
...when in proper working order our bodies function like well-oiled machines, relying on hormones playing a role in very biological process. Understand what this means for all of us, men and women equally, even when we are not part of the menopausal, pregnant or teenage populations!

8. The team behind ChippyWellFest
This not for profit event was founded by Nick Parker – The Cancer Journeyman (www.thecancerjourneyman.co.uk). As someone who has taken charge of his health (somewhat belatedly!) he has experimented with a broad spectrum of complementary therapies, and select conventional treatments, to address a terminal Stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. He is currently one of a tiny handful of people, one of 0.7% of the UK cancer population who are living in their third year post diagnosis. Having learned about so many of the the possibilities in self-help healthcare Nick feels a sense of duty to share his experiences with the wider community.
His family support him in many ways, not least in providing the seed investment to launch ChippyWellFest.
Speakers
All the speakers are health experts who all share the belief that a holistic approach to lifestyle, health and wellbeing, combined with the supportive power of community, will transform the quality of our lives today and for generations to come.
They are generously giving all their lifelong wisdom free on the day. They are not taking any remuneration out of the day.
Sponsors
The event simply could not happen without the support of several companies who have given through time, expertise, cash and products in kind.
