About this event
Join us for what promises to be a highlight of our Spring events programme, as award-winning journalist Chitra Ramaswamy talks to Caroline Sanderson about her new book Homelands.
Homelands tells the story of Chitra’s friendship with 98-year-old Holocaust survivor, Henry Wuga. In some ways an unlikely duo – one born in 1970s Britain to Indian immigrant parents, the other arrived from Nazi Germany in 1939, fleeing persecution – the pair nonetheless found huge amounts of common ground, in tales of migration, racism, family, belonging, community and resilience. Their two stories – and their shared one – are woven together beautifully by Chitra, in this account of a unique friendship.
Caroline Sanderson is a writer and books journalist who regularly interviews writers on page, stage and screen. She is Associate Editor of The Bookseller, and the editor of ALCS News, the monthly newsletter of the Authors’ Licensing & Collecting Society, for whom she also hosts a podcast, Authors’ Matters.
