EVENT FORMAT

  • We will spend 1-2 hours tasting the chocolates, discussing the flavour profiles and issues associated with these artisanal products like direct trade and the complex cacao supply chain in Europe. Polenta porridge will be provided as palate cleanser.

  • The event ends with an hour-long Filipino Merienda Cena, a savoury tapas-style afternoon tea based on Cafe Romulo’s appetiser platter and a cold brew Philippine Liberica specialty coffee (or tea for non-coffee drinkers).

CHOCOLATE FRIENDS

  • We're pleased to acknowledge the participation of our colleagues from the artisanal chocolate sector as tasters at this event including Terese Fenger Weiss, Cherrie Lo, Mireille Drescher, and Hazel Lee.

  • Guest bean to bar chocolatier is Phil Landers (Land Chocolate) who is making his own Kablon Farms bar. He will share how he has dealt with the impact of environmental change on cacao taste, akin to vintage, the theme of this tasting event.
