Aim of this Event
To improve the knowledge and awareness of cholesterol management of primary care non-clinical roles so that they can help support delivery of lipid management (which is 82 QOF points).
Target Audience
HCAs, GP assistants, social prescribers, care coordinators, health and wellbeing coaches.
Objectives
- Understanding of cholesterol and how it increases CV risk
- Cardiovascular risk and how to reduce it
- What is QRisk, how to calculate it and
- What do the numbers mean
- Undertaking annual lipids bloodCardi tests
- Statins – signposting patients to relevant information
- Understanding of other drugs used to manage cholesterol
- Red flags
