We all wish to be happy, but often our life can seem monotonous and unfulfilling. In this series of classes we will explore several meditations and ways of thinking that uplift the mind and how by carrying these with mindfulness into our day we can maintain a light, joyful attitude whatever life throws our way.Everyone is welcome to attend this series of classes. No previous experience necessary.
What does the class entail?
Each class consists of a breathing meditation to settle the mind, a short talk exploring an aspect of training in mindfulness and a second meditation based on the ideas raised. The session concludes with some take away advice that can be practised beyond the sessions allowing the benefits to pervade our life.
Do I have to attend all 3-weeks?
No, each class is self-contained and can be attended on a drop-in basis. However, it is beneficial if possible to attend the entire series of classes.
Making life simple | Tues 29th Nov / Wed 30th Nov
Modern life is becoming increasingly complicated and as a result we suffer more and more from stress, anxiety and overwhelming dissatisfaction. This class will explore how we can learn to simplify our life by creating a shift in attitude that will enable us to face the demands of our life with new found clarity and confidence.
Happy Whatever Happens | Tues 6th Dec / Wed 7th Dec
In this class we will learn how to maintain a calm and joyful mind even in the most challenging circumstances through applying Buddhas teachings on patient acceptance.
Focusing on the positive | Tues 13th Dec / Wed 14th Dec
It is very easy to allow our mind to focus in ways that are contradictory with our basic wish to be happy. This class will explore teachings and meditations that enable us to keep a positive mind and overcome negative thoughts such as jealousy and discouragement
