Choosing Schools Workshop - by Rochdale SENDiass

Join us for an informative session at Rochdale Parent Carer Voice (Spotland Bridge Mill) where we will guide you through the process of choosing a school for your child/young person. Our workshop is designed to help parents navigate the complexities of choosing schools for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Whether you are exploring mainstream schools, special schools, or alternative provision, we are here to provide you with valuable insights and practical advice. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make informed decisions about your child's education! Important to note: SENDiass is an impartial service, and whilst we can support you to understand the process of choosing a school, we are unable to make specific recommendations on individual settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get advice specific to my child?

The workshop will provide general advice. Whilst there will be some opportunity to ask questions, information and advice relating to personal circumstances will need to be provided outside of the workshop. You can contact the service on 01706 769634 or by emailing rochdale.sendiass@barnardos.org.uk.

Can you advise what school is right for my child?

Unfortunately not. SENDiass is an impartial service and we are unable to make recommendations about particular settings. You as parents know your child more than anyone else, so we are hoping that the information provided within the workshop will support you to make an informed decision.

Can i bring children along?

Unfortunately not. We want to ensure that everyone has opportunity to listen and learn so we ask that you attend without younger children. We do have a virtual offer of the workshop for those of you that struggle with childcare.
